Week 7 – Symbols of Revolution





Join, or Die is a political cartoon, which was created by Benjamin Franklin in 1754.

It is a woodcut showing a snake severed into eighths, with each segment labeled with the initials of a British American colonyor region.

The cartoon became a symbol of freedom and democracy during the Revolutionary War.
